Daughters of Mothers is an ode to the unspoken words, the shared glances, and the boundless love that defines the mother-daughter relationship. Through a blend of classical compositions, contemporary pieces, and folk melodies, this concert invites the audience on a journey through the myriad facets of motherhood—from the joyous moments of birth and nurturing growth to the challenges of letting go and the enduring strength of maternal love. The program is thoughtfully segmented into acts that mirror life's stages, each narrated through song. Beginning with lullabies that have lulled generations into dreams, moving through anthems of maternal wisdom and sacrifice, and culminating in celebratory hymns of womanhood and lineage, the performance promises an emotional and reflective exploration of what it means to be a daughter, a mother, and ultimately, a guardian of life's most precious gift.

Selections include movements from Bob Chilcott’s Circlesong, Eric Whitacre’s The Sacred Veil, and works by several female composers including Carol Hall, Diana Lawrence, Sarah Quartel, and Ysaye Barnwell.
